Also known as additive manufacturing, 3-D machine printing involves creating a physical three-dimensional object using a digitally generated design. Generally, the process involves a layer-by-layer build-up of thin materials, usually in liquid, metal, cement or powdered plastic. The layers are then fused to form a 3-D part.
